Investing in Your Well-Being
Therapy is a meaningful investment in your emotional health, relationships, and overall quality of life. My practice is designed to offer thoughtful, personalized care in a private-pay setting, allowing us to focus fully on your treatment without the limitations often created by insurance companies.
I work with adults and couples seeking support for burnout, prolonged stress, trauma, grief, ADHD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, relational, and tailored to your individual needs.
Insurance & Out-of-Network Benefits
I am a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly with one exception. I take some Aetna Insurance Plans for individual intake and therapy services.
Choosing private pay allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and treatment that is guided by your clinical needs rather than insurance restrictions.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary depending on your specific plan.
I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of the fee is reimbursed?
Is there a deductible I must meet first?
Do I need preauthorization for outpatient psychotherapy?
How many sessions are covered annually?
Why I Do Not Bill Insurance for Couples Therapy
Most insurance plans do not reimburse for couples therapy unless one partner receives a mental health diagnosis and treatment is framed as medically necessary for that individual. This can create limitations that do not reflect the true nature of relationship work.
Couples therapy is often focused on patterns of communication, emotional disconnection, conflict cycles, trust repair, and rebuilding the relationship itself—not treating one person as the identified problem.
By working as a private-pay practice, I am able to keep the focus where it belongs: on the relationship, the shared patterns, and the goals you are working toward together.
Private pay for couples therapy also offers:
Greater privacy, without requiring a mental health diagnosis to be submitted to insurance
More flexibility in session length and treatment planning
The ability to use extended sessions when clinically helpful
Treatment guided by what is best for the relationship, rather than insurance restrictions
This approach supports deeper, more honest work and allows therapy to remain centered on collaboration rather than medical necessity requirements.
